Julie Massing’s interest in and love for horses began at an early age. She has been riding horses since the age of seven, learning about equine issues since then. As a young girl and teenager, she successfully showed in 4-H in Hunter/Jumper classes and in English Pleasure. It was in 4-H where her interest in equine conformation was affirmed, competing at the state level in horse judging.
She currently rides and drives Rose, her Percheron mare, for pleasure. Julie and Rose have competed in paper chases, the PA Farm Show and plan on attending schooling shows in the future. Sheldon is currently learning dressage techniques with Rose.
Julie Massing completed her certification as an Equine Massage Therapist from Equissage in Round Hill, Virginia. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Draft Horse and Mule Association, the Susquehanna Equestrian Club and the Percheron Horse Association of America. Sheldon works for a public affairs firm in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a communications associate.
